So, you want to know about Zi'n, formerly known as Zidon, eh? Well, guess you've come to the right place :->
He's currently my second-oldest character on HT - he was created on a whim one day I was bored and wanted another char, and voila! He's a lot of fun though, and ever since he Impressed bronze Orbyth at Ista Weyr, I've spent a lot of muchly needed time on him :-D
[Hunk-a-hunks] R'kan fears you, Zi. Fear fear fear. ;)
Zidon was born in a small-ish hold in the High Reaches area, and at the age of 7 he was sent to High Reaches Weyr, to be fostered with his aunt, one of the cooks there. Through her, he learned the great art of cooking, though he never joined the Baker Craft.
A new chapter started in weyrling Zi'n's life - he adored his new lifemate, but it took him some time, and almost a visit to the mindhealers, to get used to the constantly talking voice in his head - Orbyth is one of the more talkative dragons. And that is the ever-growing tale of Zi'n, bronze Orbyth's lifemate.
Orbyth:
I finally have a copy of Orbyth's inspiration! It was lost due to a mailbox crash, and it was only recently that I discovered that Lib had a copy - lots of smooches to Lib for that! :)
(There'll be a log of the Hatching up shortly!)
More logs to come soon!

Though cut rather short, errant locks of brown hair still fall around his face, an occasional persistent auburn highlight showing. Eyes gleam attentively, hazel orbs dusted with green flecks. Skin is 'Reaches-pale, with the perpetuent sprinkle of freckles. He stands a handspan or two below average, and is a bit on the skinny side. His features are strong, despite his lankiness, and show quiet strength and dignity.
Tight leathers cling to his form, warm cinnabar washing down over shoulder and chest, past hips and thigs and disappearing into black boots. Gloves are done with golden stitches, the russet leather complimenting both leathers and tarnished bronzen riding straps. A brown firelizard is perched on his shoulder.
Ebony and steel twist and turn on Zi's shoulder, forming a High Reaches Weyr Wingrider's knot. A single strand of gilted bronze is woven into the midst of it, a symbol of love for his lifemate, Orbyth.
He had a relatively normal childhood at High Reaches Weyr - and being weyrbred should later turn out to come in handy for the young Zidon! When he was around 17 Turns old, he met a fascinating young man from Gar hold on Ista Island, by the name of Archellian. Zi soon decided to pursue his love interest, and so Gar Hold became his new home. He was hired as one of the assistant cooks, and his sticky buns are still remembered frondly by Holder Natch.
However, one day, bronze dragons came on Search for Ista Weyr. And when they left, they took a semi-horrified Zidon with them, having convinced him (by sheer physical intimidation!) that he should stand for the clutch warming on Ista's sands.
He met a lot of people there, but, alas, he didn't Impress - however, he wasn't terribly disappointed, and went back to Gar Hold in high spirits.
Time passed, and Archellian and Zidon had a very on-and-off relationship. Arc, with his well-developed temper, and Zi, with his shyness and sensitive nature, did not seem like the best possible match, but they did hang on to each other - the chemistry was simply luring them to each other no matter how many enraging fights they got into.
It was not meant to be, though - a few Turns after having been Searched, Zidon spotted green searchdragon in the sky - and sure enough, they once again dragged poor Zi off with them to Ista Weyr. However, this time, they also brought Archellian - and as an energetic, bronze dragonet claimed Zidon as his on the sands, Archellian was left with the certainty that they should never be together again...
Zi'n, always a responsible person, who had managed to become the assistant headman at Gar before he wat abducted the second time, found himself to be careless and erratic for the first time in his life. Not really his fault, but more the fault of a certain bronze dragon who insisted that they always go out on adventures, discover things, do stuff. And that resulted in poor Zi always showing up late, with rumpled clothes and toussled hair, perhaps with a shoe or a jacket missing.
Therefore, he tried so much harder to prove himself in weyrling classes, to show that he was still that responsible person. And that resulted in him being presented to a Weyrling Wingleader's knot on the day of the junior weyrlings' graduation.
Time passed again, and poor Zi'n, still under the influence of Orbyth, got into many embarassing situations - especially Assistant Weyrlingmaster Kita was subject to his clumsiness.
Much to his surprise, Zi'n was tossed into the bed of greenrider Kwa, as Orbyth caught clutchsister Jhiateshyrth in her maiden flight - and for a long time, the poor boy blushed and lost his tongue when the greenrider was around. Orbyth was surely plotting to get him into bed with another fellow ex-candidate, bluerider Kin, but before that could happen, Zi'n packed up his things and fled to High Reaches Weyr. Not because of the women, mind you, because they're certainly scarier at High Reaches, but because he missed his fosterfamily, his friends, even missed the cold climate. (But he is known to skip off to Ista, and Gar especially, once in a while, to soak up some heat.)
He joined Zephyr wing under wingleader Thesy, and big was his surprise when greenrider Kwa one day arrived to High Reaches, declaring that she was there on a permanent visit. Afraid it had to do with him, Zi'n skulked around for a while, trying to hide out for the greenrider - and any other greenrider at that. While not finding them as scary as before, he still has a fright of women, and his slight preference in men showed on occasions - there were heavy rumors going around after bluerider G'rwin from Ista had his dragon parked on Orbyth's ledge for a few days...
Orbyth pursued one green after another, and the golds as well - apparently, he'd found himself a new hobby! And poor Zi'n had to sit out one mating flight after another, and often do more than just sit - Orbyth is a large bronze, with a zealous interest in any living thing, and a burning passion to accomplish whatever he sets as his goal. Zi'n didn't object much, though - usually, a lot of wine was involved, and the results weren't bad either.
But one day poor Zi almost fled back to Ista - Saoirse's green Siulth had risen, and so had Kwa's green Jhiateshyrth, within a sevenday of each other. And just a few days apart, both greenriders pronounced that they were pregnant with his child. So the childless Zi'n suddenly found himself with two children, by different mothers, within a sevenday. Saoirse gave birth to his first son, Dane, and Kwa added yet another child to her growing hoarde with little Zwa. And as if that wouldn't be enough, there're versing rumors around the Weyr that a couple of other women are pregnant, suspiciously certain that it could possibly be by him...
It wasn't only the greens who caught Orbyth's attention, though - as young queen Cadgwith rose in one of her first flights, Orbyth once again tossed everything aside and hauled poor Zi onboard the rollercoaster, and that resulted in a clutch of 36 eggs on the 'Reaches sands, and in Orbyth's unwavering crush on Cadgwith, as well as Zi's respect (or is that fear?) of junior weyrwoman Pyrene.

Unfortunate people tried to feed Zi's green firelizard, Alpha, and that didn't turn out well. For them. :-P
Garish people have something they call... Bunny Sliding! Read here how it's done.
It was a peaceful day at Gar Hold... but then dragons arrived, and soon poor Zidon was caught, literally, in the middle of it!
Zidon never learned how to sew, and that turned out to be a problem since the Candidates have to make their own robes! But, fortunately, High Reaches goldrider Nuff turns up, and that's interesting to say the least!
Poor Zi... poor, poor Zi, all alone with a bottle of wine.. of course, that happy bliss doesn't last long. Read this /hilarious/ log!
Green dragons come to Gar (green, this time, not bronze) and when they leave, they take someone with them.....
Weyrling lessons! Doncha love them? :-) First one is bathing - yes, you do need to learn how to bathe as a weyrling. Weyrlings are stoopid, didn't you know? ;-)
Strap-making! We had an OOC contest going about making the ugliest straps, and well... here's poor Zi's result.
