Seilyn skips, humming a cheery tune, in from the Gar Hold Entry Hall.
Seilyn
Brilliant grey-blue eyes watch in absolute curiosity and amazement from under a thick run of long, light eyelashes. Soft peaches-and-cream hair trails down to just past thie kidlet's shoulders, an adorible shower of bangs ride across Seil's forehead, barely hiding her eyebrows. Small barrettes, one of either side of Sie's head, hold a small bunch of golden hair back from her sweet face. A cute button nose, rosey cheeks, and full lips that pout in the most sweetest way finish off the child's face. Sei is short, for obvious reasons, and comes up to most adults thigh, which she's oftenly seen holding.
A most adorable tunic and pant dresses the child. The tunic trimmed with beautiful designs that weave into one another at the end of the white material. The pants, a light brown color, look just a bit long for Seilyn but she's bound to grow into them soon as she will the tunic. On her feet are small sandals, earth-brown in color.
IC Age: 4 Turns, 7 months, and 16 days
Vitani walks in from the Gar Hold Entry Hall.
Seilyn waves to Vitani, "Hi, I'm Seilyn. How'r you?" she asks, cutely. A lively one she seems. Not so shy today either.
Keris glances up from the charts spread out in front of him on the table, smiling as he spots Seilyn. "Oh, hey, Seilyn. Did you sleep well?" he asks, sending Vitani a friendly smile as well. "'Llo thre."
Vitani has disconnected.
Vitani falls asleep.
Seilyn skips over to Keris, "Oh I slept very well." she giggles, her words cheery and excited.
"Good, good. The Apprentices didn't wake you up?" Keris grins, winking at the girl. Faranth knows everyone's noisy in the morning.
Seilyn shakes her head, bitting her lip, childishly, "Oh no, no, no. They didn' wake me up at all."
"Hmm, you must be a good sleeper, then," Keris notes. "D'you want something to drink? Lunch?" Hey, he has nothing better to do... ahem.
Seilyn folds her arms around one another behind her back, "I 'unno. I'm kinda' thirsty but not that 'ungry."
"I'll get you something to drink, then," Keris smiles, abandoning his charts for the bar. "And what might you like, miss Seilyn? Juice?"
Seilyn nods, "Please." she giggles, climbing onto one of the chairs at Keris' table.
"Juice it is," Keris states, snatching an empty glass from the bar. "And which kind? Redfruit? Greenfruit? Uhm..?" Looks like someone missed their true call in life; bartendering. Or maybe not.
Seilyn giggles, "Blueberry Juice.." she says, "Oh, please." she adds, rememebering her manners.
"Oh, blueberry, certainly," Keris chuckles, spending a few moments trying to find the correct pitcher - it takes a few sips but he gets there eventually. "Here you are," he beams, setting the glass in front of Seilyn on the table while sliding back into his chair.
Seilyn plops a straw into the glass, smiling widely, "Thank you mister Keris." She takes the first sip of her juice, nearly sucking the entire straw into her mouth, "Mmm .. Here has the goodest Blueberry Juice I've e'r had."
Keris chuckles again as he watches the scene of drinking. "Oh, do they? I'll have to tell Lei - I'm sure she'll be pleased to hear that." Coming from him she'll probably take it as an insult, but what...
Seilyn nods, her cheeks bulging with the delicious blueberry juice. Her lips have a slight purple-blue tinge to them already, but she doesn't seem to care. After all, she's only four.
Keris doesn't seem to care either, but that's probably because he hasn't got any clue whit comes to children. "So, have you met any new friends?" he smiles, deciding to take a break from the charts.
Seilyn takes another sip, noding as high and low as she can. She lifts her first finger, trying to swallow all the blueberry juice before she talks. In doing so, she giggles, "Yeah, a couple more big people. No peoples like me though. Just big people like you."
"Oh?" This seems to go beyond Keris' comprehension. "Well, I'm sure you'll meet some other children soon enough," he says, shrugging. "Or maybe you'll be stuck with big people like me all the time," he says teasingly, winking at the girl.
Seilyn giggles, "Thats not that bad, is it? Big people are fun .. sometimes anyway. The big peoples here are fun."
"They are? I mean, we are?" Keris grins lightly. "Oh, I suppose we are - if you find work and classes funny," he smiles - Faranth knows he does.
Seilyn giggles, taking another long suck on the straw, having to hold the straw far enough out of her mouth so that she doesn't choke.
Keris idly plays with the chart closest to him, trying to find something clever to say. What does one say to a child? "So-eh... do you miss your nanna?" Oh, good topic, let's make the girl homesick, shall we?
Seilyn bobs her head back and forth, "Kinda, but I bet she misses me more. I used ta help her cook and clean and everything. I'd sit and watch her stitch for hours." she says, not sounding homesick at all.
"Well that sounds boring," Keris willingly agrees - watching the stars is /so/ much more fun if you ask him! "Maybe she'll come visit you soon," he smiles - of course, she only left a few days ago...
Seilyn tries giggling with a mouthful of juice, a funny-sounding 'mmmmmmmmm' coming from her throat. Seil shakes her head, "Nanna only /says/ she'll visit soon." the little girl says, knowing her Nanna /very/ well .. or is it she just knows what Raelsi says when the nanny talks about visiting others.
"But she won't?" Keris actually seems shocked - that anyone'd lie to a child like that! Horrible. Anyway, moving on. "Well, then you'll just have to get a lot of friends here so you won't miss home," he suggests.
Seilyn nods, once again bobbing her head as high and low as it can go, agreeing with Keris. She bites her lip, thinking, "Keris ... Who's my nanna now?" she asks.
"Erm..." Keris squirms a little, trying to remember the name of the Starcraft nanny. "Je... Jemina!" Oh wow, he actualy remembered. "She's the Hall's nanny - and she's a very nice woman. I'm sure she'll take good care of you."
Seilyn pouts, "But I don't know Jemina."
"You haven't met her yet? Erm..." Keris would introduce them, really, if he could just remember how that shardin' nanny looked...
Seilyn takes yet another long, cheek-bulging sip of the blueberry juice, swallowing it little by litte. When she smiles, her little teeth-that haven't become loose as of yet- are a light purple-blue, and her tongue is a dark shade of violet, "Is she nice like Ta- .. Ta- .. How do you say her name right?"
"Ta... Tatoria?" Keris guesses - oh yes, he remembers something about them dancing and all... afterall, it /was/ only a few days ago, right? "Yes, Jemina's very nice. Otherwise we wouldn't let her take care of you," he assures.
Seilyn smiles, trusting Keris more with the last comment, "I guess not. /You/ can't be my nanna?" she asks, almost pleading.
"Me??" Keris just stares at Seilyn for a moment, trying to find a wise comment. "Uhm, err... I guess I /could/..." Not that the thought ever crossed his mind. Him? And children? Dear Faranth...
Seilyn looks up at the ceiling, rather slyly for a child, "Only if y' /really/ wanna though." she adds.
Keris almost grins. Almost. "Erm... I never.. I mean." Gulp. "No, only if /you/ really want to," he states. Poor girl has no idea what she's letting herself in on.
Seilyn blinks, "But I'm only four." she whimpers, holding up all fingers .. or just three .. or possibly five ... maybe its two? Or one? Who knows!
"I can't choose." Seilyn says.
Keris chuckles now. "And so? Just 'cause you're four doesn't mean you can't make decisions, does it?" he smiles. "You just decide if you want to or not..."
Seilyn slouches, truly /this/ has to be her hardest question yet.. although that last one was a doosy .. "Do you /really/ wanna be my nanna?" she asks, straining the 'really' part.
"If you /really/ want to, then /I/ really want to," Keris chuckles, stressing the 'I' part. As if this is easier for him! It isn't everyday someone asks you to be her nanna.
Seilyn sneezes, a timid squeak more than a sneeze but, never-the-less, its Seil's sneeze, "Well, I /really/ want y' ta be my nanna b'cause I know you better than everyone else here and I've never had a Keris Nanna before. I've only had a girl Nanna."
Oh Faranth, he has to get used to a kid calling him 'nanna' now? Nonethless, though, Keris smiles happily, reaching out an arm towards Seilyn. "Alright, I will, then."
Seilyn lights up, "You will?!"
Keris chuckles. "Yes, I will," he repeats.
Seilyn stands up on her chair and clasps her tiny hands together, "Really?! You'll be my nanna?!" she asks, for the tenth time is it? Little children and forgetfullness... or is it just excitement of having a new nanna?
Etain paddles quietly in from the Gar Hold Entry Hall.
Etain walks to a seat at the bar and orders a mixture of blueberry-peach juice
It must be the excitement... Keris doesn't know, y'see, since his memory probably isn't much better. "Yes, really," he nods, laughing at the sight of Seilyn. "Now careful you don't fall down from there," he advises, nodding towards the chair. "Oh, 'llo, Etain."
Etain recieves her drink and joins KLerry and Seilly, after sittign how she raises her glass in salute "'ello"
Seilyn turns to Etain, scuttling over to her, "Keris is- he said - ... " she growls at herself and collapses into a pile on the floor, her little arms crossed as well as her legs. A time out? No, just a pause in her speach to think about what to say and to say it right and to say it slowly so she and Etain understand.
Keris chuckles slightly, just lounging in his chair. A wink is given Etain-wards as he watches Seilyn, awaiting how she's going to describe him now.
Seilyn stands up, about to try that again, "Keris said he'd be my nanna.. I don't think I should call him Nanna though, should I?" she asks.
Etain shakes her head "Kerry has a /fosterling/?"
Keris eyes Etain. "And what's so strange about that?" he smirks. It's very strange indeed, but it'll be good to hear other people's explanations. "Ehm, no, you shouldn't cal me that," he grimaces. Too... feminine.
Seilyn nods, "Yup.. Me." she says, proudly too!
Etain looks suprised and impressed. Keris is taking on responsibility, "Call him Kerry like I do?"
Seilyn grins, "Ok! I like that name."
"Well you can call me anything," Keris tells Seilyn, winking at the girl. "But /you/ on the other hand," he says directed to Etain, a mock-scowl showing on his face, "had better pay me /some/ respect." Ha - take that.
Heron slips in and toward the bar, hiding a cloth wrapped package on one of the shelves before climbing onto a chair.
Seilyn giggles and gets back into her chair, getting stuck on her stomach, ... again, "Uh ... Someone?"
Cute One glides to the Kitchen.
Keris **blinks. How can you get stuck on your stomach on a chair? :P
Seilyn *Seilyn is four, 'member
Keris **grins. Still? ;)
Etain looks over at Heron as he enters. She raises glass in salute to him
Seilyn *sticks out her tongue. A little four year old.
Heron *wonders.
Keris chuckles and reaches out a hand to assist Seilyn in her battle with the chair. "Hey, careful now," he grins, smiling at Heron as well, "you wouldn't want to stay here, would you?"
Heron's eyes shift around the room. Etain is given a polite, though distracted nod.
Etain smiles at Seilyn "Need smore more help?'
Seilyn shakes her head, "Nope, I can get up.. I think." she says, squirming off the chair, ready to try again, getting up successfully.
"Hmm, good. I was afraid you'd be stuck - then I'd have to feed you blueberry juice through a straw," Keris says, smilig impishly at Seilyn.
Seilyn giggles, "But I /do/ drink blueberry juice through a straw."
"But not all the time I hope?" Keris gasps in mock-horror. "I don't think I can fit that much juice into my room." And besides, it'd damage his charts.
Heron leans over the bar as far as he has to to get a glass and pull a pitcher of juice toward him.
Seilyn giggles, "Nope. Not /all/ the time.. I just like it. I like it lots." Thats Seily, little Blueberry Juice Monster.
"Well I'm sure it's good then," Keris nods - not that he ever wants to try the stuff! It looks.. poisonous.
Etain nods, blueberry juice, maybe she'd like an Etain 'n Derit Blueberry bath. "It;s great, especially with peach juice." She drinks some of her weird concotion/
Seilyn blinks, sucking on the straw dipped into her blueberry juice, "I never'd had any peach juice with it. I just like it like it is."
"Etain, that's disgusting," Keris groans, looking sick just by the thought of it. Blueberry and peach. Ick.
Etain grins at Kerry and drinks soem more "want to try some? It's delicious!"
Seilyn watches Keris, wondering if he's going to try some.
Keris certainly isn't. "Erm, no thanks, Etain," he smiles at the Apprentice. "Maybe Seilyn'll try some..." Then again, if she gets sick it'll backfire at him. Sign.
Heron doesn't drink his juice, but sits watching the door.
Seilyn blinks, "I like my blueberry juice just the way it is.. " she smiles, slurping up the last bit of her juice.
Etain sighes and drinsk more juice "How is everyone?"
Seilyn tries not to yawn, she isn't tired. She isn't tired. She isn't tired.
Keris notices, of course, the vigilant, erm, parent-person he is. "You wanna take a nap, Seilyn? We have to move your cot into my room anyway..."
Seilyn pouts, but gets up anyway, "Ok .. G'night Etain." Sei says, drowsily talking over to Keris, rubbing her eyes, "I'm not tired though .." Yeah sure she isn't/
Etain nods "Sleep tight" she raises her glass in one last salute.
"Well if you sleep for a few candlemarks now you can watch the stars with me tonight," Keris promises, smiling at Seilyn.
Seilyn lights up, well, she seems excited for a sleepy girl anyway, "Really? Don't let me sleep lots k? I don't wanna miss that. I wanna look at the stars."
Etain smiles, stars. The stars have become a major part of her life.
"I won't - I'll wake you up before dinner," Keris assures Seilyn, extending a hand towards her while the other scoop up his charts. "Come along then, I'll show you the way."
Seilyn takes his hand, rubbing her eye with the other free hand, "You promise?" she asks.
"I promise," Keris repeats, chuckling as he leads Seilyn towards the door. "Bye, Etain."
Keris' Room
The first impression people usually get when entering this room is: Order. Against the left wall is a cot, neatly made with fresh blankets, and a simple closet. Opposite of the door stands a desk, stacks and stacks of hides neatly piled upon it. To the right there is a comfortable-looking couch and a bare table with a few chairs scattered around it.
But when looking closer around, one might notice that Keris isn't really as orderly as he'd like people to think. The closet is locked; otherwise things might come crashing out of it any minute. Beneath the cot there are several shadows, indicating that things are simply pushed under the cot rather than being picked up and left in their rightful places. The stacks of hides and charts on the desk are placed there rather than in the nearly empty drawers, and they're threatening to tip over any moment. But don't worry, Keris is in control of everything.
Glowbaskets are placed all over, making this room always bright with light. Midnight blue is on the ceiling, together with glow-in-the-dark paint dots creating an illusion of the night sky. The walls are covered with lighter blue, white dots creating a lot of constellations such as 'The Blue Dragon' and 'Love in the Sky', highlighted on black and red areas.
On the window ledge is Gai.
You see Keris' rucksack here.
Seilyn is here.
